János Balázs, Balázs Kálvin and Balázs Fülei share a stage at Gala Concert of the Bartók Composition Competition! The three young Hungarian pianists are introducing the new generation of composers to the audience by presenting the six entries deemed to be the best by the international jury. 204 young composers entered the competition all around the globe, from Mexico to Australia.
The winner of the 2018 composition round of Bartók World Competition and Festival will be revealed at the Gala, as well as the works chosen to be the obligatory pieces of the 2019 piano round of Bartók World Competition. The contemporary selection will be accompanied by works from the greatest Hungarian composers of the 19th and 20th centuries.
