The concert season starting in September, 2018 at the Liszt Academy will please the fans of numerous musical genres. At the Organ Inauguration Subscription, renowned organists themselves members of the academic staff of the Liszt Academy will be demonstrating the multifacetedness of the organ by playing the versitile repertoire born during the many centuries of the instrument’s history. László Fassang, for instance will welcome the audience with a unique chamber music formation: organ-trumpet duets.

For the lovers of historic performances, the most illustrious artists of the genre will enter the stage in two completely different setups. Within the framwork of the subscription Pure Baroque, Giuliano Carmingola, Pierre Hantaï and the ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro will be enjoying their debute in Hungary. In the season ticket Masters of vocal music György Vashegyi and the ensembles under his guidence will introduce the audience into the world of an extraordinary genre: the pasticcio. The programme consisting of the passions written by Bach, Graun and Telemann will again be staged for the first time in Hungary.

The opera and Lied-lovers will be presented with very special treats in the Voice at arm’s length series: Emőke Baráth will be rendering Schubert’s Lied-cycle Winterreise, which, however, was originally written for a male voice.
The very poplular season series Complete Works Live awaits the fans of the Classical period with two types of subscriptions: in a six-part series, musicians of worldwide acclaim will be interpreting Schumann’s complete chamber music works, while Vilmos Szabadi and Gábor Farkas will be playing Mozart’s violin and piano sonatas at three concert evenings.
Within the framework of the Talent Oblige series, the most promising students of the Liszt Academy will be presenting themselves to the audience: at three of concert events, young instrumentalists will be taking to the stage, while at one, works written by young composers at the beginning of their careers will be featured. Attila Sztán, Gergely Devich, Balázs Demény, Mira Farkas and Kata Scheuring are artists who have been awarded prestigious international prizes and have performed in renowned concert halls despite their young age.

The subscription Here and now offers choice contemporary music pieces featuring among others, the Silesian String Quartet and the highly acclaimed Hungarian flautist, János Bálint.
The youngest of our visitors are welcomed by the series Liszt Kidz Academy, which will introduce them to „divine music”, music written for religious purposes on four different occasions.
As in previous years, this year’s kamara.hu festival will again host the top chamber musicians of the world, who will delight their audience with some popular chamber music compositions from all over the world. The festival, which was founded by Izabella Simon and Dénes Várjon, will be focussing on Hermann Hesse’s symbolically overloaded novel The Glass Bead Game, for which the author was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1946. In addition to the chamber music events, Izabella Simon’s children concert is also open to young audiences.
