Gábor Boldoczki, laureate of the Echo Klassik Award

In the category ’Instrumentalist’, the trumpeter Gábor Boldoczki, member of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music academic staff was acknowledged with the highly prestigious award for his label Oriental Trumpet Concertos.

The cultural institute of the Federation of German Music Industry (BVMI), the Deutsche Phono Akademie conferred the prize upon 54 musicians, vocalists, conductors, orchestras and music publishers in 22 categories. Some laureates alongside the Liszt Academy’s own Gábor Boldóczki are – among many others - Joyce DiDonato, Matthias Goerne, Kent Nagano, Fazil Say or Jonas Kaufmann. The award ceremony has taken place in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie on 29 October since 1994. This time, the event will be hosted by Thomas Gottschalk.  Besides his academic activity, Gábor Boldoczki regularly takes to the stage of the Liszt Academy. For the next time, he will give the concert „Bohemian Rhapsody” in collaboration with the Prague Philharmonia (PKF) in the Grand Hall on 1 December, 2017
