Liszt Academy closed over the Easter weekend

14 April 2014

The Budapest buildings of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music will be closed between 19-21 April 2014.

There are slight differences in the Easter opening times of the various buildings of the Liszt Academy, as follows:

- The main building of the Liszt Academy on Liszt Ferenc Square, the Ligeti block, and the teaching bases in Semmelweis Street and Üllői Road will remain closed over the long weekend (19-21 April). In other words, even the ticket office will be closed on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Easter, and the LEGO-Liszt Academy will also not be open to visitors; between 16-22 April the buffet in the main building will only be available for guests attending the concert on Friday night.

- The Old Academy of Music on Vörösmarty Street and the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum and Research Centre will only be closed on 20-21 April i.e. it will be open on the 19th, operating according to the usual Saturday schedule.

- Throughout the spring break (16-22 April 2014), practice in the teaching blocks of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music is possible according to the practice schedule valid for the given day and with due consideration to the holiday opening hours detailed above.

- The Central Library of the Liszt Academy will be closed between 19-21 April, while it will be accessible according to the usual opening times on the other days of the Easter holiday.

As from 22 April, all buildings of the Liszt Academy will once again operate according to the opening hours customary for the given day. Given the fact that the next long weekend is just around the corner, we take this opportunity of informing you that on 1 May 2014, only the Liszt Ferenc Square building will remain open, with a Sunday schedule. On 2 and 3 May, all buildings of the Liszt Academy will be open to students and professors of the university as well as the concert-going public according to Saturday opening times.
