The most important class, however, for me and for hundreds of other Hungarian musicians, was the chamber-music class. From about the age of fourteen, and until graduation from the Academy, all instrumentalists except the heavy-brass players and percussionists had to participate in this course. Presiding over it for many years was the composer Leó Weiner, who thus exercised an enormous influence on three generations of Hungarian musicians.

Liszt Academy opening hours on 1 May and 5 June

On 1 May and 5 June in the Main Building of the Liszt Academy the guided tours will not be held and the ticket office will also be closed.

We kindly inform our visitors that no guided tours for individual visitors – normally starting at 1.30pm – will be held in the Main Building of the Liszt Academy on 1 May and 5 June and the ticket office on Liszt Ferenc Square will also be closed on these days. Online ticket purchase is available anytime over the holidays.
