Scholarship programme organized by the Liszt Academy Artist Management Office

The Cultural Division of the Liszt Academy is starting an artist management programme from 2014, which aims at helping launch selected students' artistic career and their introduction into the Hungarian and international scene of classical music. The programme is managed by the Artist Management Office under the supervision of the Director of the Cultural Division.  

Conditions of application:

- at least 4 finished semesters at one of the classical music departments of the Liszt Academy (including semesters finished at the Special School for Exceptional Young Talents)

- active student status, or MA/DLA diploma received in the 2012-2013 academic year.

Application material:

- detailed list of the applicants' repertoire

- audition programme consisting of at least 2 musical eras (max. 10-12 minutes)

- motivation letter

- letter of recommendation by main subject teacher (further letters of recommendations by the head of department or other renowned musicians are an advantage)

- references (competition results, concerts) are an advantage

If the number of applicants renders it necessary, the applications will be preselected by an academic staff committee.

Please come with a piano accompanist to the audition.

Exact schedule will be announced the week prior to the audition.

Major features of the management programme:

- portfolio in print and online (photo shoot, demo recording, being featured on the Academy's website)

- assistance in creating a repertoire and concert programmes

- recommendations for local and international orchestras, concert organizers and festivals

- making contracts with orchestras, concert organizers, festivals

- financial counseling

- public relations to the media

- public relations to Hungarian and international artist agencies

- performance opportunities at the Liszt Academy

Further areas covered with the help of the Academy's other departments:

- assistance in finding opportunities to study abroad and scholarship applications

- monitoring auditions for Hungarian and international orchestras and artistic projects

- assistance in preparing materials for competitions and applications

Students are expected to:

- cooperate with the Office to create their portfolio, repertoire and concert programmes

- be motivated

- observe the rules found in contracts for performances and other appearances

The Office will make a contract with the students selected.

Period of management:

The Office will manage students for 2 or not more than 5 years after their studies are finished.
