Liszt Academy in The New York Times

19 November 2013

It is no overstatement that the news of Liszt Academy’s reopening has gained worldwide coverage.

On the invitation of Liszt Academy's Communications Directorate New York Times correspondent George Loomis visited Budapest Festival Orchestra's 10 November performance that was conducted by former Liszt Academy student Gábor Takács-Nagy. Loomis summarized: "the hall's acoustics would make just about any orchestral performance sound vibrant. Whether seated on the main floor or up in the student balcony (performances are essentially free for students), you feel you are smack in the middle of the orchestra because of the enveloping sound. This is what makes the hall so celebrated as a venue for chamber music and solo recitals". Check out the full article by clicking here.
