We would like to inform our audience that according to the government decision effective from 11 November 2020, no public events can be held, so we are unable to hold concerts at the Liszt Academy with an audience. However, our audience will not be left without a concert experience, as most of our performances will be held and broadcast online in our Digital Concert Hall, and most of the concerts of the orchestras organizing concert series at the Liszt Academy will also be available online.

Gábor Takács-Nagy is an experienced and internationally recognized exponent of the Viennese classics, and within this he is particularly attracted to Haydn. The first and third items on the programme are Haydn symphonies: the first dates from the very beginning of his career, perhaps even from the years prior to his entry into service for the Esterházy family, while the other is Haydn’s last symphony created during his London visit. Thirty or so years separate the two works, and in the meantime while directing the prince Esterházy orchestra Haydn had the time and the means to learn and try out everything to do with the orchestra. One interesting thing is that all the elements, imagination and humour characteristic of his style are also apparent in his early work. The other giant of the age, Mozart, had died long before the birth of the London symphony, yet his refinement of piano tonality and piano play are unequalled. In Jean Efflam Bavouzet, we can welcome to the stage of the Liszt Academy the most famous French pianist who enjoys enormous respect across the world. Just as in his life, so too in the double piano concerto his partner is his wife, Andrea Nemecz.
