Each year, the themed concerts of Máté Bella, Bence Kutrik, Árpád Solti, Roland Szentpáli and András Gábor Virágh, that is, STUDIO 5, arranged in Solti Hall serve a single purpose: to bring about the most natural relationship possible between the general public and contemporary music. As the means to achieve this goal, this time the most ancient form of Hungarian folk music, the folk song embodying and expressing folk and human emotions and thoughts, has been chosen. Most of these songs have been passed down from generation to generation through oral tradition. In their eighth themed evening, STUDIO 5 set out to demonstrate how the essence of Hungarian folk songs can be integrated into 21st century modern music. Sonus Cordis String Quartet perform no fewer than five world premieres; works include inspiration-giving folk songs as interpreted by singer Ágnes Herczku, winner of Fonogram and eMeRTon Prizes.
