Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, the ensemble of the Madrid-based Reina Sofía School of Music, celebrate the institution’s 30th anniversary with a European tour. The ensemble have a dual mission: on the one hand, they give students of the school orchestral experience, besides which they strive to bring music closer to audiences. The orchestra, sponsored by Freixenet, operate with two leading conductors, Andrés Orozco-Estrada and András Schiff, in symphonic and chamber orchestral setups. Since their establishment in Madrid in 1993, they have worked with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Rudolf Barshai, Luciano Berio, Péter Csaba, Sir Colin Davis, Péter Eötvös, Leon Fleisher, Zoltán Kocsis, Lorin Maazel, Yehudi Menuhin, Zubin Mehta, Krzysztof Penderecki and Tamás Vásáry.
