Death cruelly eliminates certain times, but remembrance can bring them back. Miniatures by György Kurtág form the backbone of kamara.hu’s musical remembrance: a world premiere to the memory of Sándor Devich, a work in tribute to Christian Sutter, and the two musical bouquets of the world-famous series Signs, Games, Messages for the widowed Dénes Zsigmondy and violist Tabea Zimmermann, regular guest of earlier kamara.hu festivals. The series of Kurtág homages winds up with the figure of Schumann: the three fictional personalities of his great predecessor feature in the six-movement work. At the end of the first half of the concert there is a recital of the Beethoven work remembering Mozart and the clock starts ticking on another work of music since this is the very first time the composition by cellist Miklós Perényi, reckoned as a global legend and who also has the art of composition in his blood, is performed in public. The finale is a joyous occasion: one of the most important pieces of music in Proust’s novel, the famous Franck sonata composed as a wedding gift, fully resolves the unique atmosphere of musical remembrance.
