Denis Kozhukhin, Vladislav Kozhukhin (piano)

At the end of 2010, Denis Kozhukhin was invited to Hungary by Zoltán Kocsis, where he dazzled audiences. Since then he has been a regular guest on Hungarian stages. The international career of the hugely gifted pianist took off after he won the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2010. His performance style prompts glittering reviews from music critics around the world. The career of his younger brother Vladislav is similarly on an upward trajectory; he is fully deserving of the numerous international competition wins this young artist has collected and he has dozens of major stage appearances on his CV. Although the concept has long been disproved that only a person of a given nation can truly interpret the music of that nation, the Russian recital by the pianist brothers still holds the promise of a special and totally authentic interpretation and experiences rich in emotion and technical bravura. The programme has masterpieces by Shostakovich and Stravinsky as well as Georgy Sviridov’s (1915–1998) suite Snowstorm (1975) to the work by Pushkin and the second suite (1892) by Anton Arensky (1861–1906) translating romantic portraits into notes.
