Liszt is to piano playing what Euclid is to geometry.

Beethoven +

We will celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birthday with a concert series spanning the entire year. The opening act will be a spectacular recital by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra under the guidance of Philippe Jordan, one of the most exciting Swiss conductors, with two symphonies composed by the great master featuring on the evening’s programme. Chamber music pieces will be performed by renowned artists such as Ilona Prunyi, Vilmos Szabadi, Miklós Perényi, Alexander Melnikov or the Cuarteto Casals. Moscow-born Varvara, whose masters included among others Yevgeny Korolyov and who is still only in her mid-thirties, will perform two pieces of the solo piano repertoire, which she will pair up with works by Shostakovich at her concert.
