The most important class, however, for me and for hundreds of other Hungarian musicians, was the chamber-music class. From about the age of fourteen, and until graduation from the Academy, all instrumentalists except the heavy-brass players and percussionists had to participate in this course. Presiding over it for many years was the composer Leó Weiner, who thus exercised an enormous influence on three generations of Hungarian musicians.

ACADEMY OF MUSIC – END OF THE YEAR OPENING HOURS

This is to inform our visitors that during the holiday season our Liszt Ferenc Square ticket office will be open as usual, with the exception of the 24th, 25th and 26th of December.

END OF THE YEAR OPENING HOURS OF THE TICKET OFFICE

The opening hours of our Liszt Ferenc Square ticket office during the holidays are as follows:

Until December 21: regular opening hours, until the break of the evening performance

December 22-23: from 10 am to 6 pm

December 24-26: closed

December 27: according to the regular opening hours: from 10 am to 6 pm, and until the evening performance break on concert days

The online purchase of tickets will be continuously available during the holidays, regardless of the ticket office opening hours.

 

END OF THE YEAR BUILDING VISITS

The fixed building visits (no pre-registration required) will be available according to the following schedule in the main building of the Academy of Music on Liszt Ferenc Square:

Until December 23: according to the regular schedule

December 24-26: building visits are not available

December 27-30: according to the regular schedule

December 31 and January 1: building visits are not available

From January 2: our tours continue as usual.
