Changes related to concerts organized by the Liszt Academy of Music between 16 and 31 October

14 October 2020

Dear Concertgoers!

Since the beginning of our concert season, we have been forced to make a number of changes to our programs, partly due to virus-related travel restrictions, and partly due to the precautions we have put in place. We would like to thank you for your cooperation and patience.

Please note that in our concert halls we have reduced the number of seats for sale by half. However, out-of-circulation tickets also appear on our website as sold, so it seems to the buyer that the auditorium is already crowded. Please feel free to make a purchase if you see any vacancies, as the hall will not be full. At each of our concerts it is possible to keep the necessary distance from other visitors when taking a seat.

At our concerts held between 16 and 31 October, the following changes have been made to the original schedule:

  • On 18 October, the organ will play the main role: as a new programme, a one-hour organ presentation with music is held at 11 am, led by László Fassang and Balázs Szabó. In the evening, as part of the Liszt Academy Workshops series, representing the Organ Department four young organists give a performance.

  • The programme of the concert titled Zsolt Hamar & Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra, which starts on 22 October 22 7.30 pm, has changed. Please check our website for the new programme.

  • On 26 October at 7 pm, the concert by Ágnes Langer and Balázs Fülpei is held without a break, therefore the program has been slightly shortened. The new programme is also available on our website.

  • Violinist Daniel Hope, one of the original participants of the concert of the “Chamber Music, Tuned for Grand Hall” series held on 28 October at 7.30 pm, cannot take part due to travel restrictions. Instead, Barnabás Kelemen performs as a partner of Claudio Bohórquez and Péter Nagy. The programme of the concert is unchanged.

  • On 30 October, the concert of the in the Beethoven + series by Ilona Prunyi, Vilmos Oláh and Miklós Perényi in the Solti Hall starts at 19.30 instead of the usual time.

Information about our November programs is coming soon. We appreciate your kind understanding.
