The training I received at the Academy was difficult and at times harsh, but those who survived the experience emerged as real musicians.

Concerts at the Liszt Academy – delivered to your living room!

21 March 2020

We are launching a series of broadcast of our concerts recorded over the past years on our website and social media page. The first in the series will be a November 2016 performance of two works by Donhányi in the interpretation of the Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra conducted by János Kovács on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

For the time being, we will broadcast outstanding perfomances from our archives three nights a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, under the Broadcast Concerts menu item and on our official Facebook page. The HD-quality recordings were prepared by Aviso Studio.

The first two broadcasts are two parts of a concert held in the Great Hall on November 14, 2016, featuring the Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra and conductor János Kovács. This Sunday, Ernő Dohnányi's Festival Overture and Konzertstück for Cello and Orchestra will be performed with the participation of cellist Eszter Karasszon, a talented young musician from the Career Office of the Liszt Academy.

On March 25, which is Béla Bartók's birthday, visitors of the above-mentioned online platforms, can enjoy Andrea Meláth’s and Gábor Bretz’s - two professors of the Liszt Academy – rendering of the composer's only opera, the Bluebeard's Castle.

The list of broadcasts will be soon expanded as the Liszt Academy continues to be an active supporter of Hungarian music life and Hungarian musicians even during the epidemic, and aims to serve its audience with a high quality, soul-raising online programme. You can keep up to date with the programme on all of our online platforms.
