I am not exaggerating when I say that, whatever I achieved as a musician, I owe more to Leó Weiner than to anyone else. ... To me, he remains an outstanding example of what a musician should be.

Sir Georg Solti

Organ in the Centre Autumn 2020

László Fassang will perform a concert on the organ of the Liszt Academy for the first time as part of our organ season ticket; in addition to Bach homage pieces and his own organ transcriptions, he will also play a piece by György Kurtág and György Ligeti each. The artists of the other two concerts will also present the astonishingly wide range of possibilities the instrument offers by combining a classical and modern repertoire. David Titterington is a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and the University of London, as well as the artistic director of the St Albans International Organ Festival. His program includes a selection of works by primarily English composers, from Elgar to the present day. Hans-Ola Ericsson of Sweden completed instrumental and composition studies, his masters included Luigi Nono and Olivier Messiaen. The audience will also be treated to pieces from his own creative work at the artist’s concert in December.

Dear Audience! Let us inform you that the season ticket Organ in the Centre Autumn 2020 has been sold out. Solo tickets are still available for each concert. Thank you for your understanding!
