Taste is a negative thing. Genius affirms and always affirms.

Franz Liszt

Pure Baroque Autumn 2020

In October the stars of Baroque music will return to the Liszt Academy. Celebrated Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva will once again be our guest; this time she has prepared a repertoire featuring arias by Vivaldi, Handel and Graun, and will be accompanied by the Venice Baroque Orchestra. The joint performance of Il Giardino Armonico, under the baton of conductor Giovanni Antonini, and Isabelle Faust, promises to be an exciting experience, since this will be the first occasion for Hungarian audiences to see the great violinist perform as a soloist of a historical orchestra. Their concert will feature three pieces from Pietro Locatelli’s violin concerto series L’Arte del violino, which became popular during the life of the composer. György Vashegyi's ensembles have achieved many international successes in interpreting French Baroque pieces; this time around they will perform the motets of Jean-Philippe Rameau and Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville, the most successful composer of the succeeding generation.

Dear Audience! Let us inform you that the season ticket Pure Baroque Autumn 2020 has been sold out. Solo tickets are still available for each concert. Thank you for your understanding!
