Bartók works have inspired plenty of jazz musicians over the past 70 years. Jazz pianist Dániel Szabó, lecturer at the school of music of the University of California, Los Angeles, contributed an article to Concert Magazine on what it is about the magic of his music that is so inspiring for jazz.

The Liszt-prize winning choral conductor, music teacher and a former lead teacher of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Mária Katanics died on 23 January, 2017, at the age of 88. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, 9 February at 2:30pm in the Makovecz Hall of the Farkasrét Cemetery.

The ten students receiving the scholarship of The Bank of China, sponsor of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, were handed over their grant certificates in the Grand Hall at the Award Gala on 21 January.

The soundtrack of the short film by Kristóf Deák was composed by a member of the academic staff of the Liszt Academy, Ádám Balázs, while Ákos Lustyik, former student of the same institution, acted as his assistant during the working process.
